Capture of poignancy and translating it into movement is the utmost goal of the Lyrical dancer.   Often the music is slow to mid-tempo and smoother, enabling the performer to interpret emotionally driven lyrics or quality of music and display a unique blend of classical ballet technique, jazz and modern dance styles.  Choreography demonstrates balance, extension, purity of line and power of theatrical projection.
